The S-5-R465 and S-5-R465 Mini clamps replace the S-5-R, proving to have more than three times the holding strength. The clamps are uniquely designed with opposing setscrews to maximize holding strength. The round-point setscrews do not penetrate the weathering membrane of the roof, nor damage the protective Galvalume coatings of steel panels. They will not cause scoring which can lead to roof material fracture or premature corrosion, including rust, thereby voiding the roof manufacturer’s warranty. The S-5-R465 Mini clamp is a bit shorter than the S-5-R465, having only one setscrew on each side rather than two. The Mini is the choice for attaching all kinds of rooftop accessories.
The S-5-Q clamp’s two-piece design allows it to be easily installed anywhere along the length of the rib, making installation a snap! Just place the clamp on the seam, position the insert piece and tighten the setscrews. The S-5-Q is perfect for use with S-5!® ColorGard® snow retention system and other heavy-duty applications. The S-5-Q Mini clamp is a bit shorter than the S-5-Q and has one setscrew rather than two. The mini is the choice for attaching all kinds of rooftop accessories.
The strength of the S-5-R465 clamp is in its simple design. The clamps are uniquely designed with opposing setscrews to maximize holding strength. *S-5!® Mini clamps are not compatible with, and should not be used with, S-5! Snorail™/Snofence™ or Colorgard® Snow Retention Systems.
The S-5-R465 and S-5-R465 Mini clamps are each furnished with the hardware shown. Each box also includes a bit tip for tightening setscrews using an electric screwgun. A structural aluminum attachment clamp, the S-5-R465 is compatible with most common metal roofing materials excluding copper. All included hardware is stainless steel.

S-5-R465: Partially thread all four round-point setscrews into the clamp by hand. Position the clamp at the desired location along the seam with the bolt hile in the correct (upslope or downslope) orientation. Use a screwgun and the included bit tip to tighten the two upslope setscrews until flush with seam wall. Next, tighten the two downslope setscrews until flush with seam wall. Finally, tension and re-tension each of the four setscrews as the seam material compresses, i.e. tighten the first setscrew, then the second; then repeat until each setscrew achieves the recommended torque. When relying on publish load values, setscrew tension should be verified using a calibrated torque wrench as indicated below to ensure the tool is consistently achieving the proper torque range. Once installed correctly, these clamps require no maintenance or re-inspection for the life of the roof. For critical attachment applications, tighten the included M8-1.25 X 16 mm hex flange bolt to 160 inch pounds (13 foot pounds).
Install the S-5-R564 mini 1 1. Partially thread the setscrews into the clamp by hand. Position the clamp at the desired location along the seam with the bolt hole in the correct (upslope or downslope) orientation. Use a screwgun and the included bit tip to tighten one setscrew until flush with the seam wall. Then tighten the other setscrew until flush with the seam wall. Finally, tension adn re-tension both setscrews as the seam material compresses, i.e. tighten the first setscrew, then the second; then repeat until each setscrew achieves the recommended torque.
